New>Favorite |
Category or newsfeed in RSS Favorites (or article in Newsheader pane, as "Add to Favorites") |
Opens the Add a New Favorite dialog. Type (or copy) the name of the new newsfeed. Enter a title for the feed or click on the button right to the input field to let RSSOwl retrieve the title from the feed. If the same feed exists elsewhere among your Favorites, a warning is issued. If the feed is accepted, click OK to dismiss the dialog. If the dialog was launched from a category, the new feed appears within that category. If the dialog was launched from a newsfeed, the new feed appears at the same level in the tree. |
New>Category |
Category, subscription, or newsfeed in RSS Favorites |
Opens the Add a New Category dialog. Type the name of the new category and click OK. If the current selection is a category or newsfeed, the new category is created at the same level in the tree. If the current selection is a subscription, the new category is created at the same level as the subscription root (you cannot create a new category within a subscription; the New Category item is unavailable to newsfeeds within subscriptions). |
New>Subcategory | Category in RSS Favorites | Opens the Add a New Category dialog. Type the name of the new category and click OK. The new category is created within the selected category. |

Lets you save a newsfeed, category, subscription, or aggregated category or subscription to an OPML file on your local drive or network location. You can then Import the file to another position in your Favorites tree. |

Copies the source URL for the selected newsfeed or subscription to your clipboard. You can paste the data into an email, into a page on a Web site to create a link to share with friends or colleagues, or into any RSSOwl dialog that requires a newsfeed URL. |

Lets you copy the URL of an article listed in the Newsheader pane, or any
newsfeed found through the Search for RSS/RDF Newsfeeds dialog box. After
copying a URL link, you can add it to your collection by right-clicking any
item in the RSS favorites tree and choosing New>Favorite.
Note: Articles listed in the Newsheader pane may be derived from newsfeeds already in your Favorites tree. In this pane, the Copy Link command—and an even more direct method, Add to Favorites—are normally used to incorporate newsfeeds or articles that have been loaded through the Quickview pane or by using the File|Open command. |
Mark Unread | Article in Newsheader pane | Selecting an article from a Newsheader list automatically marks it as read and grays the item text. Mark Unread reverses that indicator to the default list color. |
Mark All Read | Article in Newsheader pane | Mark all news of the selected newsfeed read. |
Mail NewsTip to Friend | Article in Newsheader pane | Opens an email message using your default email program and loads the message with the URL of the currently selected article. |
Blog News | Article in Newsheader pane | Executes the external blogger that has been set in the preferences and adds the informations of the selected news as arguments to the blogger. |

The popup menu is different from the normal one for News descriptions (text in the lower area of the News pane) if the News pane is in browser mode. To turn browser mode off for the News pane, click the Display Newstext in Browser button, press Ctrl+B, or deselect Display Newstext in Browser on the View menu.
